About Us
I'm Ana Lopez, the hands behind Clay & Comfort. We're a small-batch ceramics studio inspired by the simple beauty of handmade things. Growing up, I always found peace in working with my hands. While other kids were running wild outside, I was happiest sitting quietly at the kitchen table, sculpting little animals out of leftover clay from school projects. There was something grounding about it. The way time slowed down, the quiet focus it brought. It was peaceful in those moments. Clay became my comfort.
When We First Started
Years later, after a fast-paced stint in a completely different world (hello, office cubicles and endless emails), I found my way back to that peace. I started sculpting again. At first as a hobby, then late into the night, until my shelves were full and my heart was fuller. After realizing how unfulfilled I felt in my job, I took a leap of faith. I decided to quit and leave it behind to pour my time and heart into my clay work, in hopes of building something more meaningful. And so, Clay & Comfort was born.
To Now
Today, I create every piece with that same sense of calm and care that first drew me to the wheel. Mugs meant for slow mornings. Bowls that turn everyday meals into something special. Planters and vases that breathe a little life into your space. Everything is made by hand, in small batches, with natural textures, organic shapes, and soft, earthy glazes.
Each collection is a reflection of balance; between art and function, tradition and modern living. Whether it’s a cozy mug that warms your hands or a vase that brightens your home, every piece carries a story of patience, intention, and comfort.
My hope is that these pieces bring a little more comfort into your day, just like clay has always done for me.
